Hi, we're Wellesley, a liberal arts college for women.

We’re excited you’re thinking of visiting! As you plan your visit to our campus, we ask that you keep a few things in mind:

👥🏫  Group visit student participants must be enrolled in high school or college as prospective first-year or transfer students. The minimum size for a group tour is 10 students and the maximum size is 45 students. Wellesley College requires one chaperone for every ten students.

👟🙋  Tours are led by Wellesley College students, and they're busy humans! We want to be respectful of their time, so we typically offer group visits on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Group visits typically last about two hours. If you have questions about the timing and/or structure of your visit, please see our question and answer section below for more information!

⏰📅  Group visits are typically not offered in April, May, and December, as well as weekends, during College holidays, or on Office of Admission event days.

Who are group visits for?
Group visits are for student participants who are enrolled in high school or college. You may be part of a high school, CBO, or other organization. We require groups to have chaperones and a confirmed appointment for a group visit. We really, really want you to love our campus, and we want to provide you the best visit experience possible.

It is also important to note that Wellesley is a women’s college, meaning that we consider applicants who live as women and consistently identify as women. We ask that students joining us on campus as part of a group visit align with the College’s gender policy.

We appreciate your understanding of our group visit guidelines!

What does a group visit consist of?
All visits run about two hours, which includes a tour lasting approximately 60-70 minutes. Visitors will have the opportunity to walk through academic buildings, the student center, and a resident hall while learning about supports and services offered to Wellesley students. We offer three format options for our group visits:

Option 1: A campus tour led by one of our students.

Option 2: An information session given by an admission counselor followed by a student-led tour.

Option 3: An information session given jointly by an admission counselor and current student followed by a campus tour.

When you request your tour, please indicate your preferred option.

Does Wellesley provide lunch and/or transportation as part of the experience?
Wellesley is not able to provide transportation as part of the visit experience. You are welcome to bring lunch to eat on campus, and we can secure a space for you. If you would like to request consideration for lunch to be provided, please indicate that in your request form.

How do we get to Wellesley?
There are commuter rail stops (Wellesley Hills and Wellesley Square) a 15 minute walk from campus. We also have a space on campus where a chartered bus can park for the duration of the visit.

Does Wellesley provide an information session as part of the tour?
We can offer an information session as part of the group visit experience. Please see the above FAQ “What does a group visit consist of?” for further details regarding options. When you request a visit, please indicate which type of programming your group prefers.

What happens after I submit my request?
Our team reviews each request, and we will reach out to you for any additional information we may need. A visit is not official until you have received a confirmation from a member of our team.

How do I keep in contact with Wellesley after my visit?
As part of the visit, we will collect information for each of your student visitors to add them to our mailing list. Each admission officer also has assigned recruitment areas and is the point person for students, families, school counselors, and CBO advisors within those areas. You are welcome to ask who your counselor is during the visit (and pick up their business card!), and you can also find the full team with assigned recruitment regions on this webpage.
