Seeking Smooth Sailing: How to Navigate the Financial Aid Process

"Here there be dragons…” is what you might think when looking at a financial aid document, but we’re going to help you fill in that map. So here’s the truth, when it comes to financial aid, every college does things a little bit differently, but there are some foundational ideas, language, and processes that can help you understand what’s going on. In this session, a member of our Student Financial Services team will give you insight and guidance on how to navigate the financial aid process. We’ll cover different types of financial aid—like merit-based aid and need-based aid or grants and loans. We’ll talk about how different colleges may choose to allocate funds to their admitted students in different ways. And we’ll arm you with knowledge (the best for slaying dragons!) through tools like the Net Price Calculator or the MyinTuition Quick College Cost Estimator. So prepare to set sail—compass in hand—and venture forth!
